AKS return with some new material this week. Specifically SKE48 who provide us with a double-header, releasing both a single and an album.
SKE48 – “Kiss Datte Hidarikiki”
Let’s start off this week with SKE’s new single, “Kiss Datte Hidarikiki”. This is the group’s tenth single release and anyone hoping for the energetic music that SKE are famous for is going to be left rather disappointed. “Kiss Datte Hidarikiki” is a very sedate affair by comparison which I suppose is fine every now and then. I’d much prefer SKE’s songs to be full of pep but it’s hard to say too many bad things about this one. It’s pretty pleasant to listen to and the b-sides on the single are of the usual high quality you’d expect from SKE48.
SKE48 – “Kono Hi no Chime wo Wasurenai”
As I mentioned earlier, SKE48 are also releasing an album this week. This is the group’s first non-stage album release and it features a host of songs. These include all of the group’s singles from “Tsuyoki mono yo” through to “Kataomoi Finally” as well as a brand new song from Teams S, KII, E and Kenkyuusei. Things are rounded out with a Team S cover of “Beginner, KII cover of “Heavy Rotation” and an E cover of Ponytail to Shushu”. If for whatever reason you’ve never tried to get into SKE before, this is probably the time to do so. The singles are all great and the new songs are fantastic too. You really can’t go wrong with this one.
That’s all there is this week. AKS fanboys and fangirls can rejoice that the two week drought is over. We’ll see you all in a month and a half for the next one. For everyone else, look forward to a new single from Kikkawa Yuu next week.
