From the first burst of guitars, you know the “Loud” part of “Loud Asymmetry” isn’t there for show. Yukueshirezu Tsurezure’s metal sounds are punctuated by shimmering keyboards that seem to contrast directly with the hammering drums. I have a feeling that you already know if you’re going to like this musical arrangement; it sounds much better played at loud volumes. Shidare, Komachi, Tsuyame and Kokoko stand barefoot in tattered white gowns that look like shredded straight-jackets. The uncoordinated dance has more in common with the free moves of a rock concert than the tightly choreographed maneuvers of an idol group, which I’m sure you don’t mind if you’re still watching. Personally, I enjoy the aesthetic of “Loud Asymmetry” immensely although I could use about 45% less scream vocals. The third Yukueshirezu Tsurezure single goes on sale August 9, 2017.
