New Akai Ko-en music available today from Akai Ko-en in the form of the promotional video Rinrin Ranran (凛々爛々) short version. Firstly, the homepage for Akai Ko-en informs us that the full PV will get a release so I’ll definitely link it here when it’s available. We start with vocalist Ishino Riko on the rooftops, and he follow her as she jumps off the ledge and through the city to her waiting band mates. We get blurred general public, red smoke rockets, and red flag waving as Riko races through to her destination. The short version ends shortly before the union of the members, so of course we don’t know how it’s going to end. But if you’re like me who enjoys guitar based music and Riko’s vocals, I’m sure you’re waiting breathlessly for the conclusion. I can’t find any links for “Rinrin Ranran”, you can bet I’ll put them here when available.
AKAI KOUEN (赤い公園 stylized AKAI KO-EN, trans. “red park”) is an Japanese girls rock band formed in 2010. The original lineup included Sato Chiaki (佐藤千明) on Keyboard/Vocals and grew from the girls’ High School Light Music Club. AKAI KO-EN made its major debut on EMI Japan in 2012 and released 9 singles and 4 albums before Sato withdrew from the group in 2017. In May 2018, the group returned with a new vocalist: the Hiroshima-born/Actor’s School Hiroshima (ASH) alumnus Ishino Riko (石野理子) from the recently disbanded idol group Idol Renaissance. AKAI KO-EN’s current lineup includes original members Tsuno Maisa (津野米咲, Guitar), Fujimoto Hikari (藤本ひかり, Bass), and Utagawa Nao (歌川菜穂, Drums) and former Idol Renaissance member Ishino Riko (石野理子, Vocals).
