New PV Alert: Aimyon – Harunohi

A new single from singer/songwriter Aimyon puts the talent out in the elements for a more relaxed feeling. Aimyon spends much of “Harunohi (ハルノヒ)” in singer in front of a windmill with the wind blowing her long, jet black hair across her face. Other outdoor scenes finds her in an amber field with the naked branches of a tree behind her like an architectural marvel. “Harunohi” gives off a brooding vibe. I’m not sure if it’s the scenery or the arrangement, but there seems to be much to consider. Aimyon also forgoes the lightly electronic flourishes that colored her previous few singles and opts for a straight band arrangement that might please the ears of those looking for more traditionalism. “Harunohi” plays like classic fold inspired rock coupled with Aimyon’s astoundingly emotional voice. “Harunohi” is the ending theme for the new Crayon Shin-chan movie, “Crayon Shin-chan: Honeymoon Hurricane ~The Lost Hiroshi~”. That’s sounds like a strange match to me, but then again I don’t know a whole lot about the Crayon Shin-chan franchise. Aimyon’s seventh single, “Harunohi”, will go on sale on April 17, 2019.

Aimyon promoting “Shunkanteki sixth sense”

Aimyon (あいみょん, born March 6, 1995) is a Japanese singer and songwriter. Aimyon was born on March 6, 1995 in the city of Nishinomiya in Hyōgo Prefecture. She decided to become a singer because of her grandmother who wanted to become a singer, and her father who worked in acoustics. During her middle school years, she began writing songs and doing covers with the acoustic guitar her English teacher left her. When she was in high school, her friend sent her application to an audition without her knowledge, and she qualified for the final rounds. After graduating from high school, a YouTube video of one of her performances caught the attention of her first music label, Lastrum Music Entertainment. Aimyon wrote the lyrics for the song “Time Goes By” from the third single of the boy group Johnny’s West, released on February 4, 2015. On March 4th, 2015, she made her indie debut with the single “Anata Kaibou Junaika (Shine)”. Aimyon made her major debut with her March 30, 2016 single “Ikiteitanda yo na”.
