Afilia Saga – “Realism

afilia-saga-realism

Everyone’s favorite maid-themed idol group (if they aren’t then there’s something wrong with you) Afilia Saga release their latest album this week. If you’re an idol fan and you haven’t heard of Afilia Saga before then I’m not sure where you’ve been for the last however many years as they’re somewhat of an institution in the scene. That being said, this album is probably an alright place to start to get a feel for the current state of the Saga. It has just about everything they’ve released in the past two years in one package. I personally prefer their earlier efforts though.

AKB48 – “Halloween Night

akb48-halloween-night

AKB48 are releasing a new single this week and I have it on good authority that I have to talk about it or else I’ll be hauled off to a camp to perform hard labor for the next decade to pay for my disrespect. *cough* Anyway, in true 48G fashion, whoever worked on this single has somehow managed to strip all but a tiny sliver of hype out of what should have been a monster party anthem. Bored vocals slapped on top of an instrumental track that’s breaking its back trying to carry the whole affair is par for the course so if you’re buying the single for anything other than the handshake tickets, you know what to expect by now.

ALSO THIS WEEK:

Michi no Sekai e / Odoru Kokoro” by Dancing Dolls

Feel free to complain in the comments about my opinion of AKB48, it’s okay, I can take it. If you’re looking for anything else to check out this week, Niji no Conquistador have a catchy number, nIo-Destroy have you metalheads covered and Predia add a touch of class for all of the ladies and gentlemen among us.
