This week’s featured releases come from Passpo, Q’ulle and Team Syachihoko.
Passpo have flown under the radar (see what I did there?) for the most part so far in 2015. They haven’t had a significant musical release since last December when they released their “TRACKS” album. Well that changes this week with the release of yet another album titled “Beef or Chicken?” (see what they did there?). I would have been happy enough with just a new single but hey, I’m not complaining. One thing that did raise an eyebrow though was the title of the opening track which is “Immigration Control”. A fairly divisive issue in many a part of the world right now and not something I expected to see in relation to an idol group.
Q’ulle – “Heartbeat”
The Q’ulle juggernaut shows no signs of slowing as the group return with their third single already this year. I would have included a link to the music video but they’ve made it private on Youtube for some reason, too bad. Anyway, like I was saying, this has already been some year for Q’ulle. Three singles in and an album also coming in the not too distant future, one does have to worry about things burning out. I don’t think it’s something that will happen maybe even this year but I’ve seen it too many times before. In any case, I’m going to enjoy this single and the upcoming album and try to put such thoughts to one side for now.
Much like Passpo, Team Syachihoko haven’t had a significant musical release in a number of months but are also rectifying that this week. For the most part I’ve given up on trying to sell anyone on songs using this feature but I’ll just say this. If you loved “Shampoo Hat” and didn’t care for anything else Syachihoko had done previously, this new single isn’t going to be for you. If you hated “Shampoo Hat” and thought it was too much of a departure from the Syachihoko you know and love, normal service has been resumed.

Nothing else coming out this week really grabbed me, but Idoling!!! fans will of course be interested in checking out Yokoyama Rurika’s latest solo effort. Until next time.
