This week in music 04.08.2015

This week’s featured releases come from Juice=Juice and Nya-KB.

Juice=Juice – “Wonderful World / Ca Va? Ca Va?

You would be hard pushed to find anyone who would put their hand on heart and honestly say that Hello! Project as a whole hasn’t had something of a musical resurgence of late. Well, you could find an 48G fan I guess but that doesn’t count. Anyway, Juice=Juice find themselves in that unfortunate position of being almost last in line and having some incredibly tough acts to follow. This is far from being bad but in the context of Hello! Project right now (and to a lesser extent their past discography), “Wonderful World / Ca Va? Ca Va?” is just alright.

Nya-KB with Tsuchinoko Panda – “Idol wa Unyanya no Ken

I have to confess that I’ve never seen a single episode or read a single chapter of Youkai Watch so like a lot of things, I can’t claim to understand the hype. It must be doing something right though because it seems like everyone wants to do collabs recently. Even the mighty AKB48 as seen here where they’re dressed up as cats for some reason…yeah, I don’t get it. The song is pretty silly which is fine because it’s anime and a lot of those songs are silly. Ironically enough though, it’s also probably one of the more interesting things that 48G has done musically in a while. I’m actually fairly positive on this one, go figure.

“Midaregami Fighting Girl” by Akishibu Project
We Are i☆Ris!!!” by i☆Ris
“Isse no Seishun Let’s☆Go!” by I-kachu
Mahou no Juice” by Moso Calibration
“Yarukkyanai! 2015 / Brand New Happy Days” by Niji no Conquistador

The only thing that really interested me out of this week’s other releases is the new Niji no Conquistador single. They’re a pretty underrated group right now I think. Until next time.
