This week’s featured releases come from and HKT48. – “Sakura Apparition

Hey look at that, are back this week with a brand new single for you all to check out. Its been a few months since they put out their “World Wide Dempa” album (which I highly recommend you check out if you haven’t) so I was looking forward to this one quite a bit. I’m slightly less enthusiastic after hearing it though. “Sakura Apparition” is pretty understated as far as Dempagumi songs go so I’m having some trouble getting into it. I guess I need a more obvious hook to grab my attention or something. Still, it’s a pretty decent song though and who knows, maybe it will grow on me over time.

HKT48 – “Sakura, Minna de Tabeta

It just now occurred to me that we have a bit of a sakura theme going on this week. Anyway, HKT48 are releasing their third single and well, “Melon Juice” it ain’t. I dunno man, you guys will probably just say I’m hating but I’m really struggling for positive things to say here. The instrumentals are fantastic, as is the usual with AKS songs but the vocals just put me to sleep (with perhaps the exception of the chorus). I’ve talked about that a lot before so I’m pretty much beating a dead horse into the ground at this point but what do you want me to say? The song isn’t awful or anything but I doubt I’ll go back and listen to it after I’ve finished writing this article. Good job doing the minimum required to be good enough I guess?

With You / With Me” by 9nine
Starting Over” by Aoyama Saint Hachamecha High School
Spider Love” by Dianna☆Sweet
“Sakura Furu Sora No Shita De / Naisho Lovers” by Frill Fleur
All Single Coupling Collection Vol.2” by Morning Musume ’14
Sakura Gakuin 2013 Nendo -Kizuna-” by Sakura Gakuin
“Deru Kui wa Utareru” by Shooting Star Girls

If you’re looking for some other stuff to check out this week, I’d personally recommend Dianna☆Sweet because “Spider Love” is an awesome song and hey maybe even 9nine because their song is pretty cool too. Until next week.
