Third Gen NSK RS Member: Mage77

Hello I’m Mage77. You may remember me from such community articles as “The Truth Is Beautiful; But So Are Lies” and “Streamlined Fandom”. Third generation NSK research student reporting for duty!

Cliche ice breakers aside, I guess I better formally introduce myself to all of you seeing as you’ll be reading (and hopefully enjoying) a lot more of my work in the near future.

Well, what can I say about myself? My real name is Garry and I hail from bonnie Scotland; haggis, bagpipes, kilts, you get the idea. I’ve been into idol fandom for a little over two years now so I guess I’m still fairly new to the scene compared to most people. Before that I was really into anime and manga so I guess I discovered idol music while looking up the opening songs to the anime I was watching at the time. The rest as they say is history.

Everyone in the community who knows me knows that I’m a big SKE48 and NMB48 fan. Not so much on the AKB48 but we’ll move swiftly on from that little factoid before the torches and pitchforks come out. My oshimen is Matsui Jurina of SKE48 Team S because she’s awesome, just like whoever your oshimen happens to be. I’m also into various other groups like Momoiro Clover, Tokyo Girls’ Style and Brand-new Idol Society to name a few.

Other than idols I’m into the typical nerdy hobbies like reading comic books, writing and I’ve been known to play video games on occasion. I’m also very active on Twitter so if that’s your thing please feel free to follow me on there. The majority of my tweets are idol related but I’ll pretty much talk about anything that’s on my mind.

I’ve been a part of the NSK community for a while now and I’m really grateful that I’ve been able to give back to it in some small way. I’d like to take this opportunity to not only thank the guys at NSK for taking me on but you the readers for all of the nice comments and tweets you send me when one of my articles go up. They really motivate me and it’s just great to hear everyone’s thoughts on the topics that I talk about.

I’ll cut the rambling now and get back to slaving over a hot word document. Thanks again for all of the support, you guys rock!
