SNSD + AKB48 = Fun Show

Who says Kpop and Jpop can’t be enjoyed together?  SNSD and AKB48 were featured at the FNS Music Festival and performed their hit songs: ‘Genie’ and ‘Gee’ by SNSD, ‘Beginner’ and ‘Aitakatta’ by AKB48.

Both had great performances and looked like they sang live while being backed up by recordings.  AKB started the show off with ‘Beginner’, followed immediately by ‘Genie’; and like-wise, ‘Gee’ was immediately proceeded by ‘Aitakatta’.  Two completely different groups and vibes, but somehow it ended being a great blend.  Personally, I think Aitakatta has been performed enough live and doesn’t really represent their current catalog of songs that well ; let’s get some ‘Oogoe Diamond’ or ’10-nen Zakura’ out there (though what I -really- want is a performance of Keibetsu Shiteita Aijou)!

Here are a few performances from this event:

  1. I would love to see one of my old favorites like ‘Keibetsu Shiteita Aijou’ performed again. In the singles sections of concerts they don’t even perform it anymore. Aitakatta is a good song for when they are performing all together and it is part of their roots. I kind of wish they switched it with ‘AKB48’.

  2. Yeah ‘Aitakatta’ works as a spectacle piece with all the members together, and I’m glad they did that for this performance too. I love it when they perform it at large venue concerts with literally every member+kenkyuusei+SKE+whoever else.

MAN, if they switched ‘Aitakatta’ to ‘AKB48’ i’d die. I love that song to bits.
