A fifth single from ZenKimi arrived in stores today, and just in time for the party we get a promotional video for “Sekirarararaiotto”. The song pushes the group closer to a denpa lean with the hyper keyboards getting somewhat less boosts from the guitars. The visuals definitely scream the aesthetic with the swirling colors splashing the props and backgrounds and even materializing as overlay graphics. That said “Sekirarararaiotto” won’t fool anyone into thinking the group strayed from its roots: the live instrumentation still pop with the Codomo Mendal sound of live instruments. With a number of quick cuts and onscreen graphics, I started to question the reality of the images. This was further exacerbated when the PV applied the “CRT tube” filter. I suppose the blur between fantasy and reality might be the point of “Sekirarararaiotto”; just be careful if you are sensitive to strobing colors and hyperactive cuts. You can buy Zenbu Kimi no Seida’s fifth single in stores now!
