New PV Alert: Yanakoto Sotto Mute – Rubble no sora

I think we are overdue a new promotional video from Yanakoto Sotto Mute. With the recently released 2nd album “MIRRORS” comes this delight of a lead track, “Rubble no sora”. The post-punk, emo-core arrangements of the group always get me good, and now the Catholic School setting for this PV REALLY has me going. From the trashy opening guitars to the off-kilter beats of the verses, to the all-out melodic punk of the chorus, Yanakoto Sotto Mute makes another case for their place among the alt-idol community. Setting the video in a catholic church and having the girls in hot water with Mother Superior really drives home just how far off the mainstream the group perceives itself. Seeing the girls of Yanakoto Sotto Mute uniformed like my hormonal teen self’s favorite private school girl crush and embroiled in an scheme to rescue their fallen fourth really gets my rocks off. And, what landed Mani in the basement locked without a key? Obviously, she was rocking too hard in the church. Need I say it, “Rubble no sora” rings perfectly in my ears and captures the sunlight in my eyes. Yanakoto Sotto Mute’s 2nd album “MIRRORS” is in stores now.
