From their Show Time album, WAY WAVE get a new funky release to our ears with “Mitsubachi Panty Line (みつばちパンティーライン)”. The grooving rhythms with an unmistakably funky bass line swerve host to a few musical callbacks that will tickle you if you recognize them. Koike sisters wear their best funk inspired t-shirts for a dance party in a hall of mirrors. Like the music, I have a grand ol’ time checking out the graphics on the t-shirts. Of course, you will also get a bit of a thrill watching the girls cooly dancing through their composition like Vincent Vega and Mia Wallace at Jack Rabbit Slim’s. You can find “Mitsubachi Panty Line” on WAY WAVE’s Showtime, in stores now.
WAY WAVE is the sister duo Koike Anna (小池杏奈) and Koike Yuna (小池優奈). Active in entertainment since elementary school, the pair formed ANNA☆S with Tazawa Suzuka,(田沢涼夏). The sisters formed soul and funk duo WAY WAVE together in 2017 to challenge themselves with musical instruments and songwriting.
