The Up Up Girls (2) release their latest promotional video for their 7th single “Be lonely together”. This release gets sound production from Hello! Project founder Tsunku, and bears some of the trademark earmarks. Interludes feature the girls’ voices cascading the phrase “aishiteru” over synthesized vocals, and some Tsunku’s distinctive phrases make their way to the forefront of the arrangement. In collared white shirts and black pants, the Up Up Girls put on a angsty performances looking detached from each other regardless of their physical proximity. Even when the girls look at each other from across a set piece table, they seem to be looking off into the distance. I would say that “Be lonely together” is one dance shot away from looking and feeling like a Hello! Project video (which isn’t surprising given the pedigree here). “Be lonely together” from Up Up Girls (2) will arrive in stores on August 13, 2019.
UP UP GIRLS (2) was formed in 2017 as a sister group to Up Up Girls (kakko KARI) The group records under Tower Record ‘s idol special label ” T-Palette Records “.
