TEAM SHACHI give us a look at their playful side, and their horny horn side with the South Asian hopping “Gulab Jamun” promotional video. The girls celebrate with a masked horn section and colorfully garbed members of Nagoya’s South Asian community as they cavort through the Metro Center shopping district. While most of you might not be concerned with representation of the minority community, I think you can be comforted with the fact that the girls are really here just to party. The song’s horn arrangements give the impression of a ska arrangement without “Galub Jamun” actually being a ska song. The girls give a cheerful arrangement more depth with some nice harmonized vocals just before the chorus hits us. Really, “Gulab Jamun” is a happy celebration that should cheer up many listeners in need of an instant party. “Gulab Jamun” is now available on TEAM SHACHI’s self-titled debut mini album.
