For their final release as this 9 member group, SUPER☆GiRLS embark on a caper for one last time. If you haven’t heard, SUPER☆GiRLS will (in January) graduate five of their members including all the remaining first generation GiRLS and Second Chapter members Asakawa Nana and Uchimura Risa. That’s a lot of graduations and should be called a regime change. Gathered about a spartan table, the girls mark their target, and we are all set for “Wagamama GiRLS ROAD”. The GiRLS put Asakawa Nana in front of their formation for the last time on these dance shots, but 3rd Chapter member Ishibashi Hotaru takes takes a lead row as well hacking into the mainframe of the group’s quarry. This short version doesn’t really give us much to go on and basically teases us for the action to come in the full version of “Wagamama GiRLS ROAD”. The good news is that new generations are set to join the group shortly. Depending on your point of view, this transition either makes “Wagamama GiRLS ROAD” an exciting release or pulls the fangs from the 20th release from the group. For my part, the song sounds a little bit like a throwback to the brighter days of the group with a fun pop arrangement highlighted by (what should be) and entertaining promotional video. Are you excited for the new SUPER☆GiRLS? Let us know in the comments. Meanwhile, “Wagamama GiRLS ROAD” hits the record store racks on November 14, 2018.
