Today has been quite the day for summer themed promotional videos with idols bringing us swimsuit, beach, lazy days, and now baseball. Pimm’s (who last showed us the excellent “Life is a game“) deliver their pitch with “Catch ball”, a fun pop punk number with guitars blazing under a sing-along vocal line. Like the best of them, “Catch ball” sounds like a cheer, and in this case Pimm’s cheer for their high school baseball team locked in a low scoring game that sends the losers packing things for the summer. The sky is blue, and the uniforms are crisp for the hometown Payrin’s team. Two of our girls have an additional stake as their boys battle it out on the field. At this point I have to point out that having boys in an idol PV is a bit daring, especially when the girls may (or may not) be going home with them. No matter how you feel about it, Pimm’s continue their streak with another solid offering. You can buy “Catch ball” on its digital release date June 25, 2018.
