Before you start on Oomori Seiko’s latest B-side promotional video you should know that, yes, the song is THAT “Silent Majority”. In Seiko’s take on Keyakizaka46’s song, you get an arrangement that retains the movement of the original but amps up the ironic sense of loneliness. As you know, I am an unabashed proponent of Oomori Seiko’s work, so you can filter my scrawling using that critical eye of yours. But, I find the PV gorgeously shot as I have never been so captivated by the movements of algae in the stone gutter of a sewer. Playing with a large cast that includes members of Maison book girl and Party Rockets GT among others, Seiko gathers her representative idol girls for a sewer meeting that ultimately ends in an abandonment. “Silent Majority” certainly looks and feels like Oomori Seiko’s farewell to the idol obsessive life; I certainly hope it’s not as she really is a credit to the numbers of wota out there. You can find Oomori Seiko’s Keyakizaka46 cover on her August 30, 2017 release “draw (A) drow”.
