A breakneck beat rules the airwaves on the new promotional video from NEO JAPONISM. The aggressively uptempo “Carry ON” plays with d-tuned guitars playing rhythm that keeps pace with the drummer who must be sweating somewhere in the back of the studio. The lack of electro-gimmicks makes the song sound refreshing clean in the current climate of idol metal. “Carry ON” colors itself in cool and clinical blues as the girls wave fluorescent tubes like futuristic weapons. I’m pretty sure the NEO JAPONISM girls are digital phantoms brought on by the hirsute protagonists advanced VR gear; I guess that’s as good a hypothesis as necessary for this PV. As I listen to “Carry ON”, I hear some strong voices in the mix. Though I couldn’t tell you who embodies those voices, I will say that this makes NEO JAPONSIM an interesting quantity. “Carry ON”, the new single from NEO JAPONISM, goes on sale September 11, 2018.
