In their 5th single, KRD8 give a taste of traditional Japanese sounds. The group dances lively in the walled gardens and polished wood floors of Himeji Castle. Using a UNESCO World Heritage site as the backdrop for an idol promotional video is a rare feat and a special treat (pardon the rhyme). Of course, such a locale also dominates the promotional video’s discussion regardless of the colorful skirts, the energetic and sharp choreography, or well-produced musical sounds. Personally, I really enjoyed the short jazzy interlude and any shot that includes the majestic castle in the background. KRD8’s “Odore / Yui ga Kokusai” goes on sale August 23rd.
