New PV Alert: KissBeeWEST – Kokyuu

Great things are happening out west. Dressed in olive uniform dresses with smart white collars and red ribbons bows, KissBeeWEST’s performance of “Kokyuu” comes from their first album “REBORN”. The camera zooms through the choreography and gives wonderful movement to the dance. The group sings through some lengthy sustained notes sprinkled throughout the melody, and this gives the song a bit of urgency and yearning. Perhaps what sells the performance the most is the expressive faces of the girls; I completely buy whatever they’re selling here. We could probably talk more about the use of a single set under differing light treatments or the fluorescent tubes zip-tied to the legs of a scaffold, but of course none of that matters if the girls do not sell their performance as well as this. You can find “Kokyuu” on KissBeeWEST’s first album, “REBORN”, but I don’t have any links to the album.
