With the announcement of a series of Complete Best albums early next year, Kamiyado comes at us anew with the promotional video for their new song “Boku wa Platinum (ボクハプラチナ)”. Looking much more adult than we have ever seen them, the girls drop the whimsical color-keyed outfits for something more stylish. Set in a warehouse space the girls put together a dance shot under colored lights with choreography that suits the emotions of the moody electro arrangement. It’s a shock, it’s a change, and I’m kind of into it (I’m always interested in seeing how groups evolve). Kamiyado put up a wealth of signals that they are ready to move on to the next stage in their careers that i was just waiting for something like this to come along. You can get a digital copy “Boku wa Platinum” now here, or you can wait until January 15 for the Kamiyado Complete Best albums linked below.

Kamiyado (神宿) is a Harajuku based Japanese idol group formed in September 2014. They are also known as KMYD. The origin of their name is a combination of the kanjis 神 (“kami”) from Meiji Shrine (明治神宮) and 宿 (“yado”) from Harajuku (原宿). The acronym for KMYD is Kawaii (可愛い!) Max (全力!) Yell (応援!) Dream (夢!). Kamiyado’s lineup currently includes Hashima Miki (羽島みき), Koyama Hina (小山ひな), Hashima Mei (羽島めい), Ichinose Mika (一ノ瀬みか), and Shiomi Kira (塩見きら).
