We finally get a promotional video for the A-side track on Hinatazaka46’s latest single with the release of “Sonna koto nai yo (ソンナコトナイヨ)”. Most prominently you’ll notice the girls breaking out into dance on the streets of Tokyo like they were cast in a new version of a Jacques Demy musical. As the girls gather up like magnetized elements we see the staggeringly kinetic choregraphy of the chorus with its jagged movements. Outfits look a bit inspired by airline flight attendants, but I think that’s part of the charm. What I appreciate the most is the reckless abandon that the girls throw into their dance. And, let’s face it: the group looks good with this kind of choreography. The circling camera does a good job highlighting the grand nature of things: large scale choreography, Tokyo Bay, and the orange glow setting sun. I think it took me a couple of listens, but I’m really getting into this track. Go ahead and point your finger at the H!P wota. Hinatazaka46’s “Sonna koto nai yo” goes on sale February 19, 2020.
Hinatazaka46 (日向坂46) is a Japanese Idol Group and the 4th sister group of Nogizaka46. This is formerly known as Hiragana Keyakizaka46 until they announced their independence on February 11, 2019.
