New PV Alert: GIRLFRIEND – FLASH

Interesting and re-imagined covers are what we are in for today. GIRLFRIEND, the four-piece girl band from Osaka give their interpretation of PERFUME’s “FLASH”. Active since 2015, GIRLFRIEND come from the Caless Dance and Vocal School which also produced SCANDAL. Similar to their seniors, GIRLFRIEND played the indie circuit before their major debut in late 2016. With this cover, the four girls translate most synth parts directly and add some great harmony vocals to the song. “FLASH” is loving shot with each girl given the kind of attention, lighting, and framing necessary if the group plans on courting the image-centric idol market. It helps greatly that the girls are quite attractive. Although this PV is a pretty straight performance piece, I’m sure the group is bound to get some attention for their more than capable cover. You can get yourself a piece of GIRLFRIEND with their debut album “CHOCOLATE” on sale now.
