New PV Alert: Fleurette – Mikansei girls

The Shiga idol group Fleurette are back in action with a PV for their 8th single. A brief lakeside introduction with leader Rio and subleader Akari leads to the seifuku uniformed Fleurette on location. “Mikansei girls” puts the girls in the spacious courtyard of a local school for a dance shot, and in its classrooms for some drama scenes. The introduction scenes also continue to play, although the short version of “Mikansei girls” never gives us much of a resolution. The idol pop sound of Fleurette frees itself from controversy with a classic arrangement and some classic choreography. “Mikansei girls” should sound classically idol: it boasts songwriter and composer credits from Yamada Takahiro, the composer of the Love Live hit “Snow Halation”. To my eyes, Fleurette look pretty sharp while delivering a snappy chorus sounds good and even looks good from the overhead drone shots. “Mikansei girls/Samba ing”, the 8th single from Fleurette, goes on sale May 22, 2018.
