New music today from girl group FAKY who are back with a new lineup and a new digital plan. “GIRLS GOTTA LIVE” is part of a trilogy of songs with the theme of “GIRLS POWER”. Lining up in a sound stage where the objects look real (but just barely so), FAKY hit a little bit of nostalgia with a noisy hum piped into the intro and an unnatural color palette . FAKY definitely fall in line closer to “dance and vocal” groups that this site’s normal idol fare, but I don’t think anyone is going to mind watching these girls kick ass. “GIRLS GOTTA LIVE” is available at digital retailers now.
Faky (フェイキー Feikī) (stylized as FAKY) is a five-person Japanese girl group that debuted in 2013 under Avex’s Rhythm Zone record label. The group` name was created by combining the two words “fantastic” and “tokyo”, and also stands for Five Ass Kicking Youngsters. The group name was originally derived from the word “fake” to challenge themselves to bring something new and real to the Japanese music scene. FAKY’s current lineup includes members Mikako (ミカコ), Taki (タキ), Akina (アキナ), Lil’ Fang (リル・ファング), and Hina (ヒナ).
