A tenth single from DESURABBITS gets a promotional video, and I’ll be damned if “Magic of Butterfly – seicho-” is just a little bit majestic. Performance shots are scriligiously shot in a church, and the kick drums keep suit with a hyperactivity of their their own. The girls, Karin, Yuzu, and Emi turn in a great performance both sitting under the gauzy veils of a daybed or commanding the band of black masked musicians (and Bucho, of course). The trio wear fabrics stitched to their arms like the wings of … ok, like the wings of a butterfly. The choruses have a lyrical melody that leans to this side of inspiring. I tell ya; when theose vocals switch from the autotuned acapella to the guitar-backed power of the intro, I pretty much was sold. You can find “Magic of Butterfly -seicho-” online at the digital retailers listed below.
Desu. Rabbits is a Japanese Death Pop group. The producer of the group, Bucho is also a member of the group and provides the ‘metal’ that the group is lacking. DESURABBITS was formed in October 2013 as a subgroup of usa☆usa club. At the time of formation, the group name was DEATHRABBITS, which changed to DESU.RABBITS in November 2016, and was finally changed to the current DESURABBITS in February 2019. The group aims to combine digital hardcore with catchy idol songs in a genre the group calls “Japanese Death Pop”. DESURABBITS’ current lineup includes members Yasui Karin (安井夏鈴), Okawa Yuzu (大川柚), Mochizuki Emi (望月愛実), and Bucho (部長 producer/member).
