“Bokura no network (ぼくらのネットワーク)” from DAOKO’s 3rd album “Shiteki Ryoko” teams the sensation with capsule, Perfume, and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (to name just a few) producer Nakata Yasutaka for a colorful collaboration. As DAOKO marches to the beat, her long sweater changes color to suit mood and situation. The production is fabulous, with DAOKO overtaking some of the more recognizable corners of Tokyo colors pushed to their maximum saturation. The rapper/singer gets to try on coats of many colors in the fashion shoot, red-carpet affair that frames the promotional video. And, DAOKO is striking. Parallel plot of the artists in working their hardest to concoct their most aesthetically pleasing work places both DAOKO and Nakata in the continuum of workman designers and artistes. “Bokura no network (our network)” hints to the vast web of artists that have their hands in the pie and their careers on the line in every artistic endeavor. Or, maybe it’s just a pretty picture? “Shiteki Ryoko” from DAOKO is on sale now at the retailers listed below.
