ANGERME – I Can’t Cry … The Fraud of Empathy
ANGERME crank up the volume substantially with their new promotional video for the A-side track “Nakenai ze … kyoukan sagi”. Sporting plastic, midriff-baring, leg flaunting outfits, the group dance their way onto a mirrored checker floor. The yellow piping on black plastic gives ANGERME a vaguely futuristic look that’s furthered by the glowing accents that illuminate when the lights turn off. An energetic dance gets punctuated by synchronized arm movements, floor routines, and lots of hair-o-graphy. As you might expect from the description, “Nakenai ze … kyoukan sagi” plays a synthesized dance groove at 10+ energy levels. ANGERME also seem to be playing up the sex-appeal a bit more with these outfits- the playful glances at the camera and bare limbs definitely suggest this more the cute routine that had been a mainstay of the group (especially in their former incarnation). ANGERME definitely make their case in their play for the top spot in the Hello! Project stable, and we’re all listening. “Nakenai ze … Kyoukan Sagi / Uraha=Lover / Kimi dake ja nai sa… friends (2018 Acoustic Version)” goes on sale May 9, 2018.
