The latest from AKAI KO-EN find the group providing the ending theme to the anime “Kuutei Dragons” with their latest single “Zettai Reido (絶対零度)”. Shot in black and white, the group performs in mostly shadow as a cadre of dancers leap about the round stage. At the heart of “Zettai Reido” is the performance of a song that swings from introspective three-four meters to pop choruses all the while punctuated with Tsuno Maisa’s arsenal of melodic guitar noise. “Zettai Reido” is on sale now at the retailers listed below.
AKAI KOUEN (赤い公園 stylized AKAI KO-EN, trans. “red park”) is an Japanese girls rock band formed in 2010. The original lineup included Sato Chiaki (佐藤千明) on Keyboard/Vocals and grew from the girls’ High School Light Music Club. AKAI KO-EN made its major debut on EMI Japan in 2012 and released 9 singles and 4 albums before Sato withdrew from the group in 2017. In May 2018, the group returned with a new vocalist: the Hiroshima-born/Actor’s School Hiroshima (ASH) alumnus Ishino Riko (石野理子) from the recently disbanded idol group Idol Renaissance. AKAI KO-EN’s current lineup includes original members Tsuno Maisa (津野米咲, Guitar), Fujimoto Hikari (藤本ひかり, Bass), and Utagawa Nao (歌川菜穂, Drums) and former Idol Renaissance member Ishino Riko (石野理子, Vocals).
