From Fukuoka, the girls rap duo 963 (read: kurumi) come together for a new promotional video. “Hoshi no Furumachi” is a cover version of the Mika☆Rika song released in 2014. Jazzy arrangements float in the air like a lazy afternoon with the sun streaming through the midday curtains. The girls go from pushing each other up the hill in a shopping cart to a gaming center where the polished trim of the slot machines and pachinko machines catch the camera’s eye. The girls themselves seem a bit dressed down for a promotional video: jeans and Converse sneakers peak out conspicuously from the long tartan coats worn by both girls. “Hoshi no Furumachi” is a catchy song for the two girls, and I really hope it points to more things to come from 963. “Hoshi no Furumachi” is available in stores now.
