Virtual idol group 22/7 release a live action promotional video for a coupling track from their latest single. Shot in entirety on the white room set, “Yasashii Kioku” gives a good indication of what a real life performance from 22/7 would look like. Duo and trio lines are shown in split screen during appropriate moments of the PV, and this gives the product a bit of a more personal feel. To be sure, the group in its current state gives a good looking performance even if the material, “Yasashii Kioku” in this instance, isn’t the most stirring of compositions. The performance and song is full of heart and emotional yes, but it’s not splashing with effects or any trick visuals. Perhaps the PV is too stripped down for some, but as a preview of live events I think it’s safe to say that the group would fare well on a nearby stage at an anime festival. Here’s hoping that 22/7 will land itself at your nearest con (or even better, MY nearest con). 22/7’s sophomore single hit the stores on April 11, 2018.
