Korea shows ‘Wota-isms’

Atron’s been taken with this Korean artist ‘IU’ (pronounced ‘Aiyoo’) and showed me this video. IU released a new mini-album called ‘REAL’, and performed her song ‘Good Day’.

What’s interesting about this performance is that the audience seems to be more organized than usual with their cheering. It’s not uncommon for the audience to scream out names along with the rhythm, but full on chanting is a rare instance in Korea. It’s almost surreal how much the audience participation during the song reminded me of wota crowds in Japan during idol shows. It’s pretty interesting:

I wouldn’t mind learning the chant to this song.
