KnP Fan Version Update

knp-contest

I know there have been a lot of people who have been wondering about the status of the KnP fan project. I will address some of the concerns and hopefully most of your questions will be answered.

First off, it is absolutely still on. I still have all the videos you’ve sent in and have a lot of them already set in position on the video.

So as for an explanation on what happened: the original plan was to have everyone submit their videos by August 18th and then have all the videos edited by the 20th, a week before the actual release of AKB’s KnP single.

Through a weird set of circumstances, I ended up in Japan on August 18 during the deadline and days where I was planning to edit. I finally ended up returning home on August 26th. By that time KnP had already been released in Japan and the original strategy of being the first video out was moot.

In addition, while I was in Japan AKS announced that there is an Official KnP Video Contest. It’s similar to the KFC Awards that were given out but instead of surprising everyone, they are giving a full heads up with rules, deadlines, and a submission process. Since we had already missed the original project timeline, I made the decision to take a step back and rethink the entire KnP Round 2 Project.

We now have an opportunity to do something bigger and better than last year and I feel that is the best way to go about it. Our original idea was to kind of put it together on a whim and we had great submissions that added a personal charm to it.

However, seeing as the official contest runs until next summer, I would like to try to put some real effort into making some sort of large scale fandom project to really showcase to Japan that we, the foreign fans, have a voice and can make a real impact. I’m thinking something of a complete global representation.

Honestly I would still like to have the video finished by the end of the year but it just depends on what kind of submissions people are willing to contribute. I have begun contacting fans I’m familiar with to see if they can go out to shoot specific shots with specific landmarks.

If anyone is willing to help contribute in this way, please contact me through the NSK gmail (use the subject: “Kokoro no Placard Fan Video”).

I will soon post a master list of all the videos that have been received and accepted since I’ve had responses from people unsure of status of their video. For that I apologize.

Thank you everyone for your patience and understanding, I hope you will continue to support us and the new project.

  1. So it’s going to be The Election in 2015 before we see Anything…..

  2. Even in japan, there is no much hype abt Kokoro no placard

This part makes me curious, does that mean if a submission’s quality isn’t high enough it won’t be accepted?

    • Not really. We started out with the idea to try to include everyone’s video. We’ve had quite a few submissions and I haven’t responded to each of them to give them confirmation. So some people were still wondering and wanted a confirmation.

I think the only rule we’ve been strict on was the Placard rule. That’s been the only reason why we didn’t accept a video, because they didn’t include a sign.
