I Love these CMs

While watching the first episode of Sakura Kara no Tegami, I came across two CMs that I found myself rewinding and watching over and over again.

First is this NECO Lavie laptop CM featuring Watarirouka Hashiritai:

Following that was this CM for a tea brand from Asahi:

Both make me want to buy their products. There’s something totally disarming and charming about Japanese commercials that make me trust whatever they’re selling. Who knows if NEC Lavie computers are crap? Or if Asahi’s tea brand is bitter and tasteless? The people in the CM are having a good time so I probably will too!

This isn’t something only Japan does; They use this tactic all over the world. Maybe because I’m Korean, seeing another Asians have a good time in a commercial is more appealing than seeing some Caucasian dude and his girlfriend getting a kick out of drinking Coca Cola. There’s a drought of Asian entertainers in the states.

  1. I wonder if people actually buy these products because their spokespersons are cute. On that note, can I purchase a levitating Mayu instead of the laptop and wireless TV device?
