Another Million Seller in the Making?

AKB48’s ‘Sakura no Ki ni Narou’ released, and the first-day sales have shaken Oricon once again.

655,344 copies have been sold, almost a hundred thousand more than Beginner’s first-day numbers(568,095). This already makes it another record breaker as the highest recorded first-day sales ever for a single on Oricon.

This time I expected a large surge of sales since I found this to be a much more exciting collection of songs than their last single, Chance no Junban, but I didn’t expect it to be this big. Time will tell if they continue to sell well throughout the rest of the week.
