AKS Worth Watching, November 2nd

Another week of great idol TV is behind us, so let’s take a look at what happened and what’s worth watching, shall we?

141025 HKT48 no Goboten! ep22 – Okamoto Naoko and Wakatabe Haruka visit a school and take some photographs. Back in the studio we explore more lifehacks, like a trick to peel a hard-boiled egg quickly.

Rating:
Yeaaaaah, not a lot interesting going on here. Pretty generic episode this week.

 

141026 Nogizaka46 – Nogizakatte Doko ep157 – Nogi girls show off their Halloween costumes and then later team up with a school choir to sing a beautiful version of “Nandome no Aozora ka?”.

Rating:
The costume bit of this episode is entertaining enough on its own, but the choir part at the end is beautiful too. Don’t miss this if you’re a Nogizaka fan

 

141028 AKBINGO ep312 – The AKB vs HKT battle still rages on with more new interesting games, including one where members paint pictures using their noses while another member tries to guess what it is.

Rating:
Its refreshing to see some new games being brought into AKBingo. Maintaining that zany fun but with new twists.

 

141029 HKT48 no Odekake! ep89 – Kurihara Sae and her crew learn how to make glass. Meanwhile, Aramaki Misaki’s team make paper mache lamps.

Rating:
I may be biased being a big fan of Kurihara Sae, but I found this episode to be quite pleasant and enjoyable, despite being a bit slow paced.

 

141028 AKB de Arubaito ep15 – The candidate picked in the last episode films an episode of the hot springs show that AKB does regularly.

Rating:
Not much going on here. A lot of talk, some girl bonding, but not much else.

 

141025 SKE48 Ebi Calcio ep03 – A selection of SKE members race up a large set of stairs to a temple.

Rating:
Fun, silly, entertaining, and the return of NEYMAR!

 

141029 AKB Shirabe ep03 – This week, AKB members vote on who’s the best-looking male staff member.

Rating:
Not exactly the most relatable ranking now, is it? So basically, watch this if you wanna see AKB members gush over pretty guys for 20 minutes.

 

141027 NOGIBINGO!3 ep04 – Several of the members dress up in fancy wedding dresses and answer some wedding-related questions. Later, some members show off some special skills

Rating:
Idols in wedding dresses…is that even legal?! The special skills segment near the end is particularly funny and impressive.

 

141024 HKT Shakariki 48! ep17 – Oota Aika’s next up for a part-time job, and she’s working in a bakery today.

Rating:
Quite an amusing episode! Remind me not to let Lovetan into my kitchen, though.

 

141025 AKB48 SHOW! ep47 – HKT and Team 8 performances book-end a behind-the-scenes look at the AKB48 Tokyo Dome concert, and Owada Nana has a chat with Takahashi Minami.

Rating:
Fun performances, fun behind-the-scenes and the Takamina talk is good if you can follow along.
