New School Kaidan is a community-focused website for the Japanese idol industry international fan base. Between podcasts, broadcasts, events, and analytic articles, New School Kaidan aims to bring an understanding of idol culture to the masses.
New School Kaidan has been hosting a weekly podcast about Japanese idols since 2010 that is now a live broadcast and recording that viewers can watch in real time as well as interact with other viewers and the cast. Spin-off podcasts have also been formed from time to time to cover various other commentary of the idol industry.
In 2013, we produced one of the very first Koisuru Fortune Cookie FAN Ver. videos, a project lead by founder David Liao Jr. that helped show the strong presence of an international idol fan base.
We also have a 2013 Sousenkyo Reaction Youtube video that went viral with Japanese netizens because it showed them that we have fans in the United States that are also as passionate about idols as they are.
In 2014, we attended the first ever Idol Matsuri and helped both convention staff and Aither management put on a smooth show.
In 2015, we produced the English translation of Sashihara Rino’s autobiography, “Gyakutenryoku” available for distribution via ebook form.
We are continuing to concentrate our efforts to further increase the quality of our content while growing into a larger audience.
