David Liao - TEAM N

1st Generation
Originally from Sugar Land, David moved to Austin, TX during college when he started listening to K-Pop groups like Fin.KL and S.E.S. He would then later move on to Japanese Rock Bands and Morning Musume.

Dae Lee - TEAM N

1st Generation
The catalyst for the creation of NSK, Dae was late into the Idol game. But what he lacked in experience he made up for with enthusiasm. The amount of Idol media Dae consumes on a weekly basis is borderline toxic. His alliance is to Takahashi Minami.

Ayrton Travina - TEAM N

1st Generation
Though originally skeptical of the new-fangled AKB48, a 2010 trip to the AKB theater in Japan has turned him into a fan. Tron’s been in the idol-game longer than anyone at NSK. A Die-hard H!P and Niigaki Risa fan, Ayrton “Tron” Travina is known as “the man for whom money is no object”. His oshimen is Niigaki Risa.

Dave (T3hDave) Chang - TEAM S

2nd Generation
Not to be confused with David Liao(but will anyway), Dave is Ariel’s partner in crime, as they go together like cheese and bread. Harold and Kumar. Honey and toast. Idols are the light of his life in his otherwise dreary work day, and also has extensive understanding of Japanese to help out with translations. Perfect fit. His oshimen is Maeda Atsuko.

Garry (Mage77) MacKenzie - TEAM S

3rd Generation
The first overseas NSK member, Garry resides in Scotland sporting the appropriate accent and has plenty of opinions on idols, when he’s not engaging in furious bidding wars over idol pictures. His fandom has a wide berth with an affinity for new groups like Nogizaka46 and NMB48 as well as AKB and SKE. His oshimen is unwaveringly Matsui Jurina.

Anthony Hagiwara - TEAM S

3rd Generation
Anthony had a varied background having lived in several US states and Japan for a significant time before returning. A recent idol fan, he has quickly brought himself up to speed by devouring immense amounts of idol content. With his understanding of Japanese language and culture, he has plenty of insight to offer as a writer and translator. His oshimen is Nakagawa Haruka.

Ariel (BeatSherlock) Schlager - TEAM RS

2nd Generation
He fills the role as NSK’s first non-asian and handi-capable member, diversifying our staff in a two-birds-with-one-stone fashion. Ironically he knows more Japanese than most of us, having taken Japanese as early as high-school. He helps with translations and lets us abuse his handicap privileges for our gain. His oshimen is Minegishi Minami.

Drako- TEAM RS

3rd Generation
The underground idol expert, he not only follows popular idol groups, but also follows groups that are up-and-coming as well as flat out unknown. He avidly follows Momoiro Clover and Tokyo Girls Style and is ready to drop some knowledge.

The Story

The Members of NSK met through gradual discussion on the internet. David was part of a online Video Game Show called 4Player Podcast. Through that community Dae and Ayrton would find mutual interests in music and video games. Dae first volunteered to help out with some website related artwork and Tron would often approach David with questions about his Idol Preferences. They would keep in touch over the course of a year and a half, even during the 3 months David was living in Japan.

Everything would finally come together when AKB48 was announced as a Guest of Honor for Anime Expo 2010. The three would make plans to see the rising Idol group, Dae for the first time. David for his second. And Tron not at all. After meeting for the first time, it was agreed that they should try to do something more involving the genre.

As a result NSK was formed…
